ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN!
Once you have completed enrollment, you will be given a link to a Google form that you will fill out to choose Creative Arts Academy classes.
The 2026 summer Creative Arts Academy is offered to all incoming 6th-8th grade students. It will be held from June 1st through June 26th at Liberty High School.

There is one set of morning classes and one set of afternoon classes for the entirety of the Creative Arts Academy. When a student signs up for a class, they will be in that class for the entirety of the Creative Arts Academy. Below are descriptions of each class offered. Some classes that have a limited class size will be capped after a predetermined number of students enroll. If a class listed here is not available on the dropdown menu, then the class has reached its cap and is not accepting any more students.
Morning Classes
Designing a Show
Have you ever wondered how ideas for a musical set are developed? Have you ever wanted to see your design ideas come to life for an audience? In Designing a Show, students will learn elements and principles of design and how they apply to theater scenery. The students will then use this knowledge to design and build a set for a musical performance. Class size is limited.
Jazz Choir
Do you love to sing? Do you love to move? Join the Jazz Choir and work through challenging music to develop your musicianship and ensemble singing skills with the goal of experiencing the joy of public performance. Students will perform as a pre-show for the Center Stage production.
Art Exploration (Art 1)
Let your creative mind go wild in various art mediums, as you explore multiple aspects of visual arts.
Digital Arts (Art 2)
Digital Arts is a visual arts class that allows students entering grades 6-8 to experience design, painting, photography, and digital arts, as well as exploring other visual arts concepts.
Fiddle 'N Folk (Orchestra)
Did you know that the fiddle is the Missouri state instrument? We are natural fiddlers! Fiddle 'N Folk is a class open to students with one or more years of experience playing violin, viola, cello, or bass. No prior experience with the fiddle style is necessary. You will learn a variety of fiddle tunes, how to modify them for a more authentic fiddle sound, and how to get creative to make them your own.
Afternoon Classes
Center Stage
Whether you are an incoming 6th grader who has been waiting for the opportunity to finally perform in a school musical, or you have been performing at your middle school and are looking for another fun show to be part of, Center Stage may just be the experience that you are looking for. Center Stage is a performance-based class that allows students entering grades 6-8 to audition for and then rehearse a musical production. Students will get to work with teachers and students from all of the middle schools to perform a musical on June 24th in front of a live audience. Center Stage focuses on character development, blocking and movement, and vocalizations. This class is designed for students who have a true love for theatre. The final performance is on June 24th at 6:00 p.m. Class size is limited.
Behind the Scenes
If performing onstage doesn't interest you, but you still love the theatre and want to be part of a production, think about joining us backstage. Behind the Scenes is a class in which students entering grades 6-8 can work as a crew member of a show. This class may encompass the following: lighting, sound, stage management, props, costumes, posters, advertising, set moving, and much more.
