ORCHESTRA

In Middle School Orchestra, students advance their skills as individual musicians and collaborate as a team to play a variety of musical styles. There are many performance as well as social opportunities. 6th Grade Orchestra picks up where Elementary Orchestra leaves off. However, even if a student has not played in Elementary Orchestra, they may join at the middle level. Students may play violin, viola, cello, or bass. 

Required Equipment for Orchestra

  • Each student should have a pencil with them every day. Keep this in your case.
  • All students should have a good case for their instrument. Repair or replace any instrument case that does not work properly (this includes latches).
  • All instruments shoiuld be easy to tune and stay in tune.
  • All instruments should be professionally set up (correct bridge/nut height).
  • All instrument cases must have a nametag on them. 
  • Music stand.
  • 5th Grade: Essential Elements for Strings Book 1 for correct instrument
